What to Look for in a Pre Workout:

Why Voyager Pairs Caffeine With L-Theanine

Caffeine is effective because it is simple: it is a stimulant that can increase alertness and reduce perceived effort during training. But a formula is not just about how much stimulant you can fit into a scoop.

The role of caffeine

Voyager provides 300 mg of caffeine per full serving. That is a meaningful amount, which is why the label directions recommend starting with half a scoop to assess tolerance.

Caffeine sensitivity varies dramatically from person to person. Sleep, body size, habitual intake, other stimulants, and time of day all matter.

Why add L-theanine

Voyager pairs the 300 mg caffeine dose with 300 mg of L-theanine. L-theanine is commonly paired with caffeine in focus-oriented formulas because the combination has been studied for attention and subjective focus.

We are not claiming the pairing makes caffeine side-effect-free. It does not erase the fact that 300 mg is a substantial stimulant dose. The point is formulation balance: energy and focus are not the same thing as simply pushing stimulant load higher.

Why we disclose both numbers

If a formula talks about “focus” but does not show the actual active amounts, you cannot meaningfully compare it. Voyager shows both numbers so you can decide whether the formula fits your tolerance and training style.

If you train late, are sensitive to caffeine, are pregnant or nursing, take medication, or have a medical condition, talk with a qualified healthcare professional before using a high-caffeine supplement.

FIELD NOTE: More caffeine is not automatically a better pre-workout. The useful dose is the dose that supports your session without wrecking the rest of your day.
